DESCRIPTION:ATTENTION:\n“Top Notch Resume” Workshop is provided to attendees of the in-person Bergen One-Stop Career Center Orientation who are identified by NJ#s in the NJDOL client database. NJ# clients receive credit for attending workshops. We ask that NJ# clients do not bring guests to workshops.\nJob seekers who have not attended the in-person Orientation are invited to attend the Orientation first to become registered clients in the NJDOL database. After Orientation data is processed and clients are assigned NJ#s, we welcome them to register to attend workshops.\nDescription\nWelcome to “Top Notch Resume,” an in-person workshop that provides you with up-to-date steps to develop your resume.\n\nLearn how to make a resume your personal marketing tool that differentiates you from others and moves the employer to invite you to an interview.\nGain familiarity with the filtering process that many employers use to screen candidate resumes.  Begin to use simple resume adjustments to remain in the candidate pool.\nUnderstand the importance of keywords in employers’ job posts and in your resume.\nUsing a simple resume format, present your qualifications, background and knowledge “up front” to promptly capture the reader’s attention.\nRefresh your knowledge of resume “Dos and Don’ts.”\nLearn a new way to demonstrate your past on-the-job achievements.\n\n
